WHO WE ARE
Two women. One table. Everyone welcome
We are two women with a genuine love of food, wine, spirits, and the people who produce it. We just love it for what it is — and what it does. How it opens up a conversation, slows down a room, and turns an ordinary afternoon into something you talk about for years.
That is what Pop Pairings is built on. Not credentials. Passion. And the belief that everyone deserves to feel at home at the table.
FOUNDERS
Sally stewart
Walk into a room with Sally Stewart and you feel it before she says a word. Fire. Presence. The kind of energy that makes people lean in.
She comes by it honestly. Raised between two grandmothers — one Jamaican, one Southern — Sunday tables were sacred. Food was never just food. It was culture, warmth, and a reason to commune. Sally absorbed all of it.
As an actress and a visionary, she brings the presence, production, and professionalism from every set she has ever worked on to everything Pop Pairings touches.
Her perfect evening? A beautiful table with flowers from her garden, her favorite food prepared for the people she loves, and of course a great wine. The kind of evening you will still be talking about over coffee the next morning.
Sandye Wilson
Sandye is the Ying to Sally’s Yang. She creates balance and deepens the flow.
An artist through and through. Performance pieces, short films, work designed to move people. Off the screen she is the person you call — to land on your feet, engage in diplomacy, or find your way back to yourself. Life coach. Visionary. An architectural force that makes sure Pop Pairings is built to last.
What makes this partnership work is trust. In each other and in the vision.
Her perfect evening: dope conversation flowing, food popping, wine delicious, laughter loud, and stories so good nobody wants to go home.
Pop Pairings was built on a simple idea: the best moments happen where a great pour meets a great story.
We are a wine, spirits, and food platform that celebrates culture one bottle at a time — making the world of wine and spirits feel joyful, accessible, and worth gathering around.
At the heart of our work is a commitment to championing Black winemakers and spirit owners. Through our YouTube shows, Instagram content, and live experiences, we introduce audiences to the makers, the craft, and the bottles redefining the industry — including our signature Black Wine and Spirits Renaissance, a show and live event celebrating legacy, community, and the creators leading the movement.
Along the way we have shared the table with remarkable people. We have sat down with James Beard Award-winning chef Alexander Smalls; profiled Sun Goddess, the wine brand co-founded by music legend Mary J. Blige; hosted Ntsiki Biyela, South Africa's first Black female winemaker and founder of Aslina Wines; and explored healing and forgiveness with author Dionne Nicholls-Germain over a thoughtful pour.
We have collaborated with top sommeliers to bring professional palates to everything we create — from holiday pairings to cocktail how-tos to spotlights on the producers we love.
We do not just talk about wine — we design the experience. We curated the wine list and designed the Wine and Jazz Nights at 333 Lounge in Brooklyn. We curated the full wine and spirits selection for Gracie Mansion's Juneteenth celebration, proudly featuring makers of color. We have partnered with brands like High Camp Flasks, earned a feature in the New York Daily News, and been spotlighted on the Cultural Epicurean network.
The conversation is just getting started. Our lifestyle wine and spirits podcast is coming — bringing you closer to the people, places, and ideas worth raising a glass to. Follow Pop Pairings. The next chapter is coming soon.
